Sound Therapy Association

For some time now, there has been interest amongst the sound therapy community for a membership-based professional association to represent those working with sound in the UK.

We are making good progress in making this happen and meet on a regular - usually monthly - basis to discuss, debate & agree a structure. Download copies of all meeting Minutes are posted on this website which you can find here: STA Meetings - Downloads

The Aims and Objectives of the Sound Therapy Association can be summarized as follows:

We aim to hold meetings in different locations but appreciate that not everyone will be able to reach those locations easily to attend in person.

You can still participate in this process, however, and we encourage you to contact us indicating what level of involvement you can offer on a consistent basis - as little as a couple of hours per week can make all the difference.

So far, our meetings have been dedicated to discussing the framework for the Association's professional standards.

We are making good progress and the agreed Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice are both available to view on our Downloads page.

Next Step: Training Standards

If you present courses in sound therapy/sound healing in the UK, and would like to get involved, please go to our Downloads page and click on the links for Training Survey Form A or Form B, to download, complete and send us details of the courses you currently offer. Please use one form per course.

The information you provide will help us gather data on the range of courses currently available in the UK. It will also help us draft guidelines for standards that, as a future representative body, will help us assess trainers and organizations interested in joining the Association.

We will collate all responses received by our closing date (15th January) and compare the data on a like-for-like basis. Preliminary guidelines will then be circulated for comment. Once we receive your feedback, we will finalise & publish our proposed Standards of Training for membership to the Association, on this site.

We hope to encourage as many trainers and training establishments to assist us by participating in this process.

Get Involved

We are interested in hearing from you if you have time you can reliably dedicate to attending our monthly meetings (approx 3 hours) and sharing in the tasks that need to be undertaken at this time (8 - 10 hours per month). If you feel you can meet this criteria, then why not help us create a professional organization to promote and protect the future of our profession?
