Sheila
Hill
Sheila Hill is a qualified
therapist in the INNER SOUND method of sound therapy. Her treatments
incorporate the basic elements of the INNER SOUND system - a versatile
vocabulary of musical 'motifs' that are either listened to as part
of a recommended listening program or applied to the body in sequential
pairs of tuning forks. They can also be vocalized. She also compiles
personal music CDs for individuals based on their requested themes.
Her interest in natural
remedies & complementary therapy began in Australia in the 1980s
when she helped organize the country's first public 'psychic &
alternative health' fairs in Sydney & Melbourne.
The opportunity awakened
a curiosity that has led her to take a variety of trainings over
the years - from massage techniques & deep tissue bodywork to
working with color, sound and energy healing.
Her collaboration with
the co-creators of INNER SOUND, Jack & Arden Wilken, spans over
20 years, during which time she has used their music & techniques
both personally & professionally. For over 10 years, Sheila
worked as a massage therapist in Sydney and Barcelona combining
a holistic approach incorporating physical & energetic techniques
with the use of music & color therapy in her sessions. Sheila
has continued developing her experience in the field of sound therapy
over the years and has added working with the voice and tuning forks
to her skills. She is currently a student body-worker of Postural
Integration.
Sheila has been teaching
courses in the UK since 2002. In 2005 the UK School for INNER SOUND
was established and Sheila is currently the School's Director. She
is certified to teach a variety of courses which form part of the
School for INNER SOUND established curriculum. Her current role
gives her the opportunity to draw on her accumulated experience
& she enjoys giving presentations & running workshops to
promote the role of sound & music as a beneficial force in our
lives.
Sheila is a member
of the Association of Physical & Natural Therapists (APNT) and
the International Association of Sound Therapists (IAST). The School
for INNER SOUND is a member of the British Complementary Medicine
Association and the Complementary Medical Association. Sheila is
currently a member of a working party group affiliated with the
BCMA that is dedicated to establishing an inclusive VSR Council
(voluntary self-regulation) for all complementary therapies in the
UK.
