Welcome to the Sound Therapy
Network
Our aim is to build a network of people who work with sound
in a therapeutic way - that is, to help improve health and well-being.
We hope this website will become
a community network for sound therapists and practitioners with
articles, news and views, a UK register and member profile pages
of anyone wishing to become a part of this community.
We also intend that this site
will become a resource for those seeking to know more about sound
therapy and to help you find a course or therapist in your area.
We are a new community service and welcome you to contribute & be
a part of this new project.
The Sound Therapy Network aims
to represent and include all areas of sound therapy within the complementary
therapy field - whether the focus of the work is more physical,
emotional or spiritual/energetic. The Sound Therapy Network does
not endorse or favour any school, therapist, practitioner or methodology
featured on this site. We aim to promote all forms of working with
sound - whether instruments or the voice.
Many areas of complementary
therapy are working towards voluntary self-regulation. This is a
consideration for sound therapists of all disciplines in the long-term
& how best to organize and represent ourselves in our dealings
with the public and other professional organizations.
The Sound Therapy Network aims
to keep you informed of developments regarding VSR progress and
to work towards creating our own representation in the future. This
is an exciting time for all those working within the sound therapy
field to contribute their views, time and energy to shaping the
future of sound therapy in the UK.
One objective of our community
is to ascertain how many people are currently practicing and working
in the field. Ultimately, we would like to promote the idea of a
'national register' of sound therapists - to give the public a central
source of information for our work.
So, if you are a practitioner
or work with sound in any capacity - qualified or not - and want
to be involved in this project, tell us
about your work.
